Sheraton Erie Bayfront

The Sheraton Erie Bayfront Conference Center Hotel caters to guests seeking outdoor entertainment and business associates looking for a hotel connected to a conference center that can accommodate large groups. The hotel expresses the perfect merger of business and social activities for their guests. Sitting on the shores of Lake Erie adjacent to the Erie Bayfront Conference Center, the hotel is a landmark for both guests and locals alike.

The project scope included a renovation to the lobby, restaurant, and bar areas and the guestrooms. The color palette was inspired by the water and sky as they converge with the brass and bright accents of the heroic ships that mark the bay’s history. The wood look flooring of the lobby like the deck of a ship along with brass and frosted glass light fixtures that resemble the accents of the lighthouse that sits just next to the hotel create the mood.

The water and marinas of picturesque Presqua Isle Bay inspired designers to carry elements of ships and lake views throughout the space including graphics placed behind the reception desk featuring the deep blue color of the water and other nautical materials seen on the sea vessels around the bay. The design provides flexible gathering spaces for social interaction/entertaining or private reflection as one of the goals outlined by the committee. The combination of lounge and cocktail seating allows guests to enjoy the space — whether it be to see and be seen or to sit back and watch the world go by.

The design of the 200 guestrooms takes its cues from the public areas. Again, with the bay as inspiration and the views of the bay from each of the guestrooms as our color palette. A respite from the busy day at the adjacent convention center the guestrooms are designed with the guests as well as the operators in mind. Durable materials that have classic lines and tones to withstand the test of time.
