This project included a full renovation of the existing 6,300-square-foot footprint and an 8,300-square-foot addition, to produce a vibrant facility that fosters a sense of warmth and community connection. Key features include several flexible meeting rooms, a large community space with sliding glass doors that can open to the children’s area, a fully equipped classroom kitchen doubling as a maker space, and outdoor program areas. The library also incorporates sustainable elements such as rain gardens, high-efficiency mechanical systems, and automated daylighting controls.

The design maximizes natural light and provides barrier-free zones along window walls, while a fireplace in both the lobby and children’s area creates inviting destinations for visitors. The library is integrated into the Circle Pines Civic Campus, offering connections to a community garden and bike trails. Local art and poetry are featured throughout, including custom display boxes and sandblasted poems in the sidewalk.
