LEO A DALY was selected by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Fort Worth District, to provide design services, develop design-build construction documents, and perform construction administration for a new 10-story Air Traffic Control Tower and 3,600-square-foot administrative base building at Fort Bliss Army Base.
The control tower serves as a critical component of the installation’s aviation mission, supporting the operations of the 1st Armored Division’s 1st Combat Aviation Brigade and the 127th Aviation Support Battalion, which operate AH-64 Apache, UH-60 Black Hawk, and CH-47 Chinook helicopters.
In addition to supporting these units, the tower provides air traffic control services for a diverse range of rotary- and fixed-wing aircraft involved in training exercises and day-to-day mission-critical flight operations. The project also includes a communications transmitter building and three remote transmitter-receiver antenna sites.
