Bringing together UNMC’s UNeMed and UNeTech branches with biotech and technology research startups, this five-acre site will be home to the University’s new 180,000 SF Campus Operations and Research Excellence (CORE) Building.

Serving as the cornerstone of UNMC’s new Saddle Creek Campus at the corner of Saddle Creek Road and Farnam Street in Omaha, LEO A DALY partnered with University leadership to explore master plan concepts that not only establish a keystone development linking the main campus to the Saddle Creek site, but also relieve space pressures within the clinical and teaching core. The project enhances access, strengthens campus connectivity, and advances UNMC’s long-term sustainability goals.

The multi-story laboratory building will support a broad range of research, development, and testing initiatives across diverse R&D entities, fostering collaboration between academia, private industry, and the regional innovation community.

Program Components Include:

  • Finished Dry Lab Spaces

  • Finished Wet Lab Spaces

  • Unfinished Lab Shell Space for future growth

  • Administrative Office Spaces

  • Flexible Shell/Unfinished Space to support long-term expansion

The CORE Building positions UNMC’s Saddle Creek Campus as a catalyst for innovation, collaboration, and sustainable growth within the region’s expanding biotech and research ecosystem.
