City of Minneapolis Police Department

City of Minneapolis Police Department Property & Evidence Warehouse

The Minneapolis Police Department operates multiple evidence facilities across the jurisdiction. Historically, these facilities have been located according to available real estate or available area within City-owned facilities.

The City wished to assess and define the physical space parameters for a potential replacement and/or consolidated evidence facility to meet the current/future need and potentially inform real estate acquisition or leasehold negotiations. Using its national expertise, LEO A DALY provided recommendations for evidence intake, movement, storage and disposal as well as best practices for workflow, security measures and adjacencies.

Subsequent to the completion of the needs assessment, the City procured a facility for the renovation and relocation/co-location of Property & Evidence into a new single 72,000 SF facility and commissioned LEO A DALY to provide subject matter expertise in the evaluation, design of workflows and adjacencies, and to identify room performance measures to facilitate the renovation.
