As one of the fastest-growing campuses in the Georgia Board of Regents University System, Georgia Gwinnett College envisioned a new library at the heart of the campus. LEO A DALY programmed and designed the 90,883-GSF, four-story library that frames the central quadrangle and creates a vibrant “living room” for the campus community.
In addition to traditional college library functions and services, the facility includes a high-tech information common, small group study rooms, distance learning, video conference rooms, stacks for 400,000 volumes, a faculty teaching/learning center, and a student success center.
The library’s design established architectural and site design criteria for future campus buildings. LEO A DALY also developed a 20-year, campus-wide utilities infrastructure master plan.
This project was designed applying sustainable design principles and has received LEED Gold certification.
