Construction begins at the first ever centralized headquarters for the Minnesota State Patrol
New Roseville facility will consolidate metro-area operations and expand training, wellness, and public engagement resources for the agency.
On September 22, state leaders, law enforcement officials, community stakeholders, and project partners will gather to celebrate the groundbreaking of the new Minnesota State Patrol Headquarters in Roseville. The $119.5 million facility represents a significant investment in public safety infrastructure and will provide a modern, centralized home for State Patrol operations serving the Twin Cities metro area and the entire state.
Designed by LEO A DALY, the approximately 120,000 SF headquarters will consolidate six existing metro-area State Patrol locations into a single facility, improving collaboration, operational efficiency, and training capabilities. The new headquarters will support administrative and sworn staff while providing expanded resources for officer wellness, training, and public engagement. Planned spaces include a dedicated public lobby with the history of the State Patrol on display, classrooms, secured vehicle storage, fitness facilities and dedicated areas for de-escalation and crisis intervention training.
The facility's design draws inspiration from Minnesota's diverse natural landscapes, incorporating architectural elements that reflect the state's prairie, forest, driftless, and North Shore environments. Sustainability is also a key focus, with features including bird-safe glass, abundant natural daylight, bored geothermal heat exchanger system, native plantings, biofiltration systems and stormwater management strategies that will transform a heavily paved site into a more resilient and environmentally responsible campus.

Expected to open in 2028, the new headquarters will provide a unified, future-focused environment that strengthens coordination among State Patrol personnel while supporting the agency's continued commitment to public service, safety, and operational excellence. The facility is envisioned as a 50-year investment in Minnesota's law enforcement infrastructure, creating a headquarters that reflects the professionalism, dedication, and statewide impact of the Minnesota State Patrol.
