Originally, LEO A DALY provided design services for the 93,000-square-foot First Baptist Church of Orlando worship center, which featured traditional sanctuary pew seating along with educational and administrative wings, family life spaces, and multipurpose areas.
As the congregation’s needs grew, LEO A DALY was retained to expand and reconfigure the campus, creating a cohesive new design that seamlessly integrated with the existing facilities. The expansion added a fellowship commons, bookstore, pastor and visitor gathering areas, a fully operational restaurant, and expanded educational and administrative areas. A four-story senior adult education center was also introduced, housing a gymnasium and a senior high student center with a black box theatre. The fellowship commons hall provided a flexible multipurpose space designed to accommodate a wide range of activities and events.
LEO A DALY was later engaged for a third phase of work when the worship center required further expansion. This addition increased the worship center by nearly 3,000 square feet and expanded seating to 4,350 tiered seats. The sanctuary was enhanced with state-of-the-art audiovisual technology, including a 25-by-16-foot video screen, high-definition cameras, and dimmable LED lighting, supporting an engaging and modern worship experience.
