LEO A DALY signs MEP 2040 pledge, pushing forward sustainability goals
LEO A DALY recently signed the MEP 2040 challenge, our fourth sustainability-related pledge in recent years.
MEP 2040 is a movement to radically reduce total carbon emissions associated with building systems through collective action. Signatories seek to achieve operational net zero in their projects by 2030 and net zero embodied carbon by 2040. This is a lofty goal, but it’s achievable with careful design and tracking efforts.
“At our firm we’re focused on tackling carbon reduction, as well as learning from and leading within the industry,” said Uziel Ramos, LEO A DALY’s MEP 2040 lead. “Each part of our integrated team of architects and engineers plays a role in reducing carbon in our projects. These pledges give us more tools to help clients increase their energy efficiency and meet their sustainability goals.”
The firm has signed on to the AIA 2030 Commitment, the Structural Engineers 2050 Commitment and the AIA Materials Pledge.
“The more of us that work together, the more disciplines in this industry that work together, the better our position to achieving those goals,” said Kim Cowman, LEO A DALY’s national director of engineering and sustainability lead. “I look forward to working with our partners and clients to create the built environment of the future.”
