LEO A DALY Celebrates Grand Opening of Tunnel to Towers Veterans Village in Memphis
The 110-unit adaptive reuse community expands Tunnel to Towers’ national effort to provide permanent housing and supportive services for veterans experiencing or at risk of homelessness.
The Tunnel to Towers Veterans Village in Memphis, Tennessee, has opened marking another significant milestone in a growing national effort to end veteran homelessness through dignified, permanent housing and supportive services.
Designed for the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, the Memphis Veterans Village transforms an existing hotel property into a vibrant 110-unit residential community designed specifically for veterans experiencing or at risk of homelessness. The community provides safe, private living accommodations alongside access to case management, counseling services, workforce development resources, wellness amenities, and shared community spaces that support long-term independence and stability.
The Memphis opening represents the third completed Tunnel to Towers Veterans Village that LEO A DALY has helped bring to life, following successful projects in Atlanta and North Charleston. The firm currently has 12 Tunnel to Towers projects under contract nationwide, with five additional sites under consideration through an ongoing planning and evaluation agreement.
“Every Tunnel to Towers Veterans Village is an opportunity to further apply our dignity-driven design approach that can create lasting change," said Michael Rodebaugh, AIA, residential market sector leader at LEO A DALY. " We are honored to continue to partner with Tunnel to Towers on a mission that not only provides housing but helps restore independence, purpose, and hope for those who have served our nation."
LEO A DALY's work with Tunnel to Towers combines expertise in adaptive reuse, multifamily housing, and community-focused design to create environments that foster belonging and well-being. By transforming underutilized properties into welcoming residential communities, the program benefits both veterans and the neighborhoods in which they are located.
