Architecture through Construction Administration
The Sysco FreshPoint expansion transformed an existing produce processing and distribution center into a more efficient, high‑performance hub designed to support the company’s continued growth and leadership in fresh food distribution.
The completed project delivers a dramatically enhanced campus, beginning with a new 130,000‑square‑foot parking area designed for seamless employee and truck circulation. A newly elevated guard house strengthens site security while creating a welcoming point of entry for visitors and drivers.
At the heart of the expansion is 55,520 square feet of state‑of‑the‑art cooler space engineered with multiple temperature zones, specialized banana rooms, a cold dock, and modern dock offices. This area was strategically designed to support future expansion, positioning Sysco FreshPoint for long‑term scalability.
The facility also underwent a significant renovation and expansion of 29,580 square feet of cooler areas, cold dock space, and ancillary support zones. In addition, 24,540 square feet of sanitary production, employee welfare, material handling equipment charging, and maintenance areas were relocated and reimagined to optimize workflow, safety, and quality control.
To support these upgrades, the facility now benefits from a dedicated secondary electrical service and a new central ammonia refrigeration system, delivering reliable, energy‑efficient cooling for both production and storage environments.
Together, these enhancements create a modernized, future‑ready facility that elevates FreshPoint’s operational capacity, boosts efficiency, and reinforces their commitment to delivering the highest‑quality fresh products to customers.
