Mark Pratt of LEO A DALY featured in Hotel Business panel about 2025 trends

“Designers must continue to evolve using inspiration from fashion and product design to help the creative mind evolve from business as usual. I think pulling hyper-local arts and culture are more important now than ever. Authenticity is expected and the idea of a contrived composition no longer validates a sense of place. We strive to create something original and timeless in all we do that ultimately gives our owners a better ROI and NOI. We always think of their money like it’s our money. I also think sustainability and innovation with respect to the same is top of mind for most travelers. People want to protect Mother Earth and our value on projects and ownership that share these values.”

“Renovations have touched every corner of the property, with new villas designed to weave together the textures, colours and materials of the Texas landscape. Design elements inspired by indigenous Texas flora and fauna include cool, crisp blues that reflect the opulence of Texas Topaz and the bountiful surrounding lakes, and porcelain tile that nods to the earthy tones of sage and cactus. Touches of leather in warm brown and amber tones evoke the nostalgia of the property’s past as a ranch, with stitching details reminiscent of saddle craftsmanship.”

LEO A DALY-designed Shiloh Cares Food Shelf opens

LEO A DALY staff joined more than 200 community members to celebrate the opening of the redesigned Shiloh Cares Food Shelf at the Northside Community Safety Resource Center.

With a mission to eliminate food insecurity in North Minneapolis and Hennepin County, the facility provides needed food to thousands of people.

LEO A DALY Project Architect Zach Anderson and Interior Designer Gina Shuck spoke at the ribbon-cutting and grand opening Sunday, Oct. 6.

“Working in my local community and seeing such an important project take shape reminds me every day of the impact good design can have on any size of project,” Anderson said.

“It’s our hope that, with these design improvements, the food shelf continues to be a place where people not only receive the help they need, but experience the compassion and care they deserve,” Shuck said.

The facility grew from 2,500 to 4,300 SF. Among the enhancements:

  • More efficient food and nonperishable inventory handling, storage, and distribution
  • Improved user flow by appropriately zoning out a dedicated check-in space
  • Elevated shopping and storage flow, mimicking a retail-like environment
  • Devoted spaces for community resources and outreach to occur
  • Increased restroom counts and made proper ADA upgrades throughout
  • A new meal pick-up + café space provides a welcoming gesture upon entry
