The AIA Potomac Valley jury praised the project’s thoughtful response to the campus context, saying, “We appreciated the response to the campus architecture—it contributes to the surrounding context with a modern building that reinterprets the Georgian campus. It carries its strength in the exterior.”

LEO A DALY-designed Goodwill opens in Omaha

Goodwill celebrated the ribbon cutting of its newest location in Elkhorn, Nebraska, on Oct. 10. The building, designed by LEO A DALY, incorporates employee wellness and sustainability features to the nonprofit’s sixteenth Omaha store.

The new 15,000-SF facility includes a retail sales floor, drive-through donation center, online pick up and a training room. It will employ up to 35 people. The project expands Goodwill’s commitment to furthering their mission of generating essential funds to support programs that help those with disabilities and other barriers find employment.

The LEO A DALY designed facility will be Goodwill’s first ground-up, free-standing build in the Omaha metro in a decade.

“Shoppers at Omaha’s newest Goodwill will find improved wayfinding and ample natural light for an enhanced retail experience,” said LEO A DALY project manager Erin Froschheiser. Goodwill is looking forward to welcoming customers to this new facility at their Grand Opening October 12th.

“We love this design, and our customers will as well,” said Janelle Peterson, chief operating officer for Goodwill Omaha. “The attention to detail, both large and small, will make this an inviting, sustainable facility for years to come.”
