West Tinian International Airport - Terminal Expansion & Security Improvements

Tinian Island, United States Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands

LEO A DALY prepared the airport's original master plan for a small commuter field and was asked again to update the master plan to allow growth as a regional airport, capable of handling mid-size jet traffic. The airfield proper, including runway lengthening and new parallel taxiway, had already been upgraded in LEO A DALY's original master plan. The recent updating of the master plan provided for a separate departures terminal, of similar architecture to the original terminal, with a pedestrian walkway connecting the two structures. A jet bridge was designed for the departures terminal, with adequate additional space provided for all government functions, including checked baggage screening.
