The Nebraska Medical Center - Lied Transplant Center
The Lied Transplant Center was created as a link between research and transplant-related care by joining clinical and research spaces into one facility. The internationally-recognized transplantation programs of the University of Nebraska Medical Center include bone marrow, liver, heart, kidney, pancreas, small bowel, and islet cell transplantation. The environment encourages the implementation of cooperative care, in which patients and care partners become part of the care team. The cooperative care model focuses on patients' needs and results in higher patient satisfaction and quality of care, while reducing costs. The facility enhances the organization's position as one of the leading transplantation research and care centers in the country. HOK was part of the project team.
