Nursing Lab

Morrow, Georgia

Four existing computer classrooms were converted into three nursing lab classrooms on the first floor of the Continuing Education Building.  The space was divided into three areas: a simulation/ICI unit classroom, a health assessment classroom, and a skills lab. The simulation/ICI unit includes three beds, an infant crib, and an infant ICU. The health assessment room provides six exam tables, and the skills lab has eight beds. Storage was designed around the perimeter of the classrooms and sliding barn doors were utilized to conserve space. All rooms are equipped with computer work stations and the simulation rooms are equipped with video cameras to critique student training.  The project was completed two months ahead of schedule and for half of the allotted budget.
