CHI Health – Immanuel Medical Center

Omaha, Nebraska

The four-story, 70,000-SF addition includes 24 private ICU beds, a heart center and an expanded diagnostic center with expansion space for future modalities. Windows providing natural light are a unique feature for the four new orthopedic, orthopedic spine and cardiac surgery operating rooms. Twenty additional outpatient holding, observation and recovery positions enhance the service capabilities of the hospital.

Renovated areas and departments include an expanded diagnostic department with MRI, CT, nuclear medicine and ultrasound facilities. Post-partum and labor and delivery rooms were added to the labor and delivery recovery department. The admitting/intake area was expanded by creating “hubs” within each patient service center to minimize patient transfers. Public wayfinding was improved by expanding the main lobby and creating a new atrium and public patient elevator that links the existing facility to the addition.
